Jerry Seinfeld is the semi-fictional version of comedian Jerry Seinfeld from Seinfeld, the hit TV Sitcom. In the series, Jerry Seinfield protrays himself as an optimist well mooded yet somewhat apathic, sarcartic and mocking person that rarely runs into major personal problems and is still the voice of reason amidst his friends' antics and the focal point of their relationship.

He is the best friend of George Costanza since their childhood, the neighbor of Kramer since some years before the show and a former boyfriend and current friend of Elaine Benes. He is the main confident of the three and the reason they are a group. Despite his mockery and the fact that he never worries too much, all of them are always telling him their problems with their family, dates, acquintances and coworkers, and he always gives them certain perspective.

Jerry lives in the apartment where much of the show's action takes place. It's located at 129 West 81st Street, apartment 5A, as stated in the episode The Alternate Side. He and his friends also frequently eat at "Monk's", a fictional diner. Monk's outside facade is in real life is Tom's Restaurant, a diner style eatery located near Columbia University on Broadway.

Jerry appeared in all 180 episodes of Seinfeld (including several 2-part episodes), holding the distinction of being the only character in the show to appear in every episode.
