Although in it's first two seasons the television series Justice League featured several well known DC Comivs characters, when it was revamped for the 2004-2006 seasons as "Justice League Unlimited" ist's trademark became its featuring of dozens of characters from the DC Comics roster, surpassing all previous series based on the DC Universe.
While many characters played important or ongoing roles in the series, many more only made recurring silent cameos. Eventhough most characters get some spotlight in fighting scenes, the majorit of the Justice Leaguers didn't ever get dialogue lines. That's the same case with the Secret Society.
This is a list of characters appearing in Justice League.

[edit] The Justice League
[edit] Original members
The seven founding members listed were the original lineup of the Justice League in the first two seasons.
[edit] The 8th member
Prior to the premiere of Justice League Season 2, interviews stated that the team was to have had a temporary additional. The episode Hereafter which had Superman supposedly killed would prompt the rest of the team to recruit a new member. Originally, the new member would be Captain Marvel. However, legal rights prevented that appearance. Lobo would be chosen instead, since the 8th member had to be the least likely suspect. [1]
[edit] Extended rooster
After the series changed its name to Justice League Unlimited in the third season, many of these members only made small appearances in the series while others were featured prominently in episodes.
Some of them fist appeared in the seasons before they affiliated, and some like Aquaman, Orion, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Etrigan or The Creeper appeared in previous DC animated Universe series.
[edit] Future Justice League members
These are the members of the Justice League around fifty years in the future, as seen in "The Once and Future Thing" and "Epilogue", as well as the Batman Beyond episode "The Call" and mentioned in Static Shock Episode "Future Shock." At different times they were shown being led by an either aged Superman or an aged Bruce Wayne.
