Nostromos (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot), is a villain and enemy of Batman, created for Batman: The Animated Series by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, played by Michael Des Barres.

Nostromos is a con man who manages to fool some of the wealthiest people of Gotham City into believing he is a true psychic and prophet and therefore joining a New Age Brotherhood scam.
Nostromos predicts that a gambling cruise liner would go down and convinces a rich man named Ethan not to board it. When the ship does sink (due to a bomb planted in the engine room), Ethan afterwards becomes one of Nostromos's staunchest promoters but his daughter Lisa confides in Bruce Wayne her distrust for the club, who gets concern and joins the Brotherhood in an attempt to debunk Nostromos' claims while as Batman he investigates the fraudulent psychic true identity. Nostromos, predicting the fall of civilization, urges his acolytes to transfer their bank funds to the Brotherhood's coffers, but Batman foils his plans by exposing and defeating him.
