Detective Renee Montoya, is a DC Comics supporting character of Batman, created for Batman: The Animated Series by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, played by Ingrid Oliu. Soon after she first appears on the series, she was the first original character introduced to the comics continuity. When the series was revamped as The New Batman Adventures, she was voiced by Liane Schirmer.

She is a honest uniformed officer often partnered with Harvey Bullock, much to her dismay. She is fearless and tough minded, Montoya doesn't back down from anyone, whether it be a lowly street thug or a Super Criminal like Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

Although she first appears in Alan Grant's Batman #475 (May 1992), which was printed months before the animated series began broadcasting in September 1992.[1]

In the follow-up The New Batman Adventures, Montoya been given a promotion by Commissioner James Gordon from police officer to a full-fledged detective.

Montoya is also a recurring character in the third season of the web cartoon Gotham Girls, in which she is voiced by Adrienne Barbeau.
