Scarface and the Ventriloquist, a. k. a. Arnold Wesker, is a DC Comics character, enemy of Batman, characterized by leading his 1930s styled mob through a puppet. He was created by writers Alan Grant and John Wagner and designed by Norm Breyfogle for Detective Comics #583, in February, 1988.
Wesker is a mild, excessively shy ventriloquist who leads a mob through the rude, bossy, abusive and cruel Scarface, a puppet modeled after the real gangster of the 1930s. Like Two-face, Wesker has a split personality to the degree that the Ventriloquist and Scarface ignore each others thoughts.
At several points Scarface controls a great deal of Gotham City's crime operations.
