Smallville is a fictional town in Kansas, U. S. A. where Superman and other characters created by DC Comics grow up. Its habitants include at some points Clark, Jonathan and Martha Kent, Lana Lang, Pete Ross, Kenny Braveman and Professor Phineas Potter. The town first appeared as "Smallville, USA" in Superboy (volume 1) #2 (1949). Its location was firs placed in Kansas in the first Superman movie.
[edit] In Other Media
Smallville has appeared in almost every other media outside comics that Superman has. However, in some cases it has been featured even more than Metropolis as the main setting, most notably in Smallville and The Adventures of Superboy.
