Jonathan Crane a. k. a. the Scarecrow, a fictional DC Comics enemy of Batman (Super Friends, appeared in the 1970s animated series Super Friends, voiced by Don Messick and later by Andre Stojka.

The Scarecrow first appeared in The Challenge of the Super Friends as a member of Lex Luthor's Legion of Doom. This version showed no powers at all and was used mainly when the plot called for a villain easy to defeat. This version was voiced by Don Messick.

However, his identity, motivation and super power were expanded upon in the final season episode The Fear. The character finally became three-dimensional, using his fear inducing devices for the first time. Thanks to that the episode also revealed Batman's origin for the first time in other media outside comics. Andre Stojka voiced the Scarecrow in that episode.
