The Werewolf, a DC Comics supervillain and enemy of Batman, appeared in Batman: The Animated Series, played by Harry Hamlin as human and Frank Welker as the werewolf vocals (credited as Werewolf FX). In the comics his alter ego is Anthony Lupus, but in the series the character is renamed Anthony Romulus, to make a more subtle wolf reference.

[edit] DC animated universe biography
As with Lupus in the comics, Anthony Romulus is an Olympic athlete in Gotham City (DCAU). Desperate for victory, Romulus contacted underworld doctor Professor Milo for an untraceable steroid. Milo gave him a wolf-steroid hormone, allowing Romulus to win, and gaining instant celebrity status and product endorsement deals.
The wolf element of Milo's steroid bonded with Romulus' immune system however, turning him into a werewolf. This was all a plan formulated by Milo to blackmail Romulus into doing his bidding; if he wants the cure, he'd have to be Milo's henchman.
Romulus eventually runs into Batman, who starts investigating the case and is set to fight against him by Professor Milo. The cure is destroyed during the fight, leaving Romulus forever stuck as a werewolf. The fight ends on top of a building as Romulus is knocked into a river, and Gotham police are unable to recover his body.
[edit] Batman Asventures biography
The comic book based on the animated series brought back Romulus, along with Tygrus, Man-Bat, and Dr. Emile Dorian, as part of a scheme to capture Catwoman.
