[edit] We're NO GESTAPO
I think the main probem here is that I feel we're starting to come off a little agressive and that's the opossite of what this place is supposed to be about. I think this place should be fun and friendly. I think we should make an extra effort with people that sound rude. I think if they are mad about something we did the ones benefiting the mos from hearing it would be us. We should be friendly with them and ask about their concerns. We won't necesarely compromise with them, but whe should at least listen and learn.--WikiSysop 16:34, 22 December 2006 (CST)
Yes, as a warning for vandals, a one hour block sounds right, but not for just univil fellas, that's as per my above comment.--WikiSysop 16:59, 22 December 2006 (CST)
Incivility is a major problem. It can really hurt us. I think for people who are rude we should give them a time to cool down and really think about it. That is why I support a small block. By small I mean anywhere from 1-3 hours.--Sir James Paul 17:05, 22 December 2006 (CST)
No, it's not a major problem, but if we go around looking like "Nazis" (figuratively) we are not going to scare people away like we already have, but we also estimulate moree uncivility and agressive behavior. I wanted this place to be better than wikipedia as a comunity, not worst.--WikiSysop 17:13, 22 December 2006 (CST)
I did not mean incivility is a problem as in it is a problem here but I meant it is bad and can hurt us. Also it should not even be a issue with most people. During a fight with another user on simple wikipedia I was never blocked but if I was blocked right when the first bad thing was said I would of made sure I was never incivil again. I think the anarchy you are trying to make here will make editors happy but will cause problems and hurt us. Also when Netoholic was blocked on simple wikipedia when he came back he was not even worse, he was better. God bless.--Sir James Paul 17:24, 22 December 2006 (CST)
Wow, wow, wow, who said anything about anarchy?! You don't get it. I'm only talking about moderation. --WikiSysop 17:30, 22 December 2006 (CST)
- Compared to wikipedia this place is a anarchy. We have no rules when it comes to user pages. When it comes to incivility we don't block them. That is not really good. We need some rules. --Sir James Paul 17:35, 22 December 2006 (CST)
It may be moderation to you but it is not to me. You are trying to make something less controling than wikipedia and wikipedia has problems. The solution to them is not to make laxer rules but tougher. Pluss it will not even be a problem for most people.--Sir James Paul 17:39, 22 December 2006 (CST)
I'm sorry but that's not the way we are going to go around here. Any doubt?--WikiSysop 17:46, 22 December 2006 (CST)
- I do not want this project to fail. Listen to me, lets try to come up with a compromise instead of picking just one of our ideas.--Sir James Paul 17:51, 22 December 2006 (CST)
